Ashdod has always been a city of growth, but the last decade brought with it a development momentum that required the enhancement of infrastructures and the accelerated construction of municipal institutions, as worth of a city whose growth rate is among the highest in the nation. Three new quarters were established in recent years and the existing quarters were enhanced.  The marina is filled with yachts and most of the houses in the land-based area have been taken.  The luxurious Kirya campus includes a musical conservatory, dance center, museum, performing arts center and culture square, all adjacent to the Ashdod Yam Park and the largest amphitheater in Israel.  “Jubilee Port” has doubled port area and yields and an international trade and logistic center was established at the back of the port.  The West Hotel at the Lido Beach and Leonardo Hotel at the Riviera Beach have recently begun operating and they serve as the first sign of the developing hotel industry in Ashdod.  Concurrently, construction of tall residential towers is under momentum, changing the skyline, while urban renewal and eviction-construction projects are being implemented throughout the city.
